jungle fever

My mom bought me this tiger in college and I decided to save it...maybe someday I would give it to my kids (I'm a pack rat). Our baby hasn't shown much interest in it until recently and now she loves it. She pulls on it's whiskers, wrestles it around and even cuddles with it. I love to watch her play with it, just another simple delight to being her mother.
Yesterday she discovered that doors swing. Oh what fun...until they close.

August in Review

the Grand Tetons (one of my favorite places on earth)
This month has been CRAZY, but I have finally gotten around to blogging again. These next few posts are what we have been doing during the month of August.

Road Trip

she finally got to meet her great-grandma
Temple square was beautiful.
All the construction was amazing.

our friends kids enjoying the fountain on Temple Square

Salt Lake City Zoo

She loved the animals (when she wasn't throwing a fit)

BYU-Idaho

This is what I did my entire Sophomore year at Ricks...(mono)

Jackson Hole
We took this picture for their Christmas card this year (sorry J, looks like the primary song was really true)
Don't miss the Alpine Slides if you ever visit Jackson Hole

Jackson Hole Playhouse.

Dinner and Show (looks like we ate too much)
I worked here one Summer and loved going back to see how much it has and hasn't changed

More terrific friends.

I think this picture would also make a great Christmas Card.

Thanks to everyone who let us stay at their house. I am sure this will always be one of our favorite vacations. Hopefully we can do this again, soon, so we can see everyone again!

32nd birthday

Yesterday was his birthday and this is what my studious husband decided to do on the afternoon of his birthday. Read! Wow! Miracles do happen. We just bought the next two Stephanie Meyer books from Overstock and we have been waiting anxiously for them to arrive. They arrived yesterday for his birthday! Perfect timing. He's a movie man, but when we find a good book he does like to read. He's read more books in the 6 years we've been married than he had read in the 25 years prior.
Happy Birthday handsome. You are the best husband I've ever had!

9 months old

August 9th
We are on a plane headed to Utah. She was terrific on the plane. Thank heavens for Cheerios. But, she did fill her diaper as soon as the plane left the gate. If you have never changed a baby in an airplane bathroom, DON'T, it's HORRIBLE! It's now on my list of things to never attempt again!

6th Wedding Anniversary

August 9th
We finally did something big to celebrate our anniversary (two of the year's I've been at girl's camp). We flew to Utah and then did a small road trip.
I love being married. He is an incredible husband.

Doesn't she look like some kind of jungle animal?

it's back

The tongue is back. We thought her snake-like habit had been outgrown, but much to our amusement she has been doing it again. She is so full of funny looks, noises, and movements. During my voice lessons she sings right along with us. She still loves to blow raspberries and while she is eating she gives the funniest sour faces. Sometimes I think it's a true reaction to the food, but most of the time I think she is doing it to be funny. It's so fun to watch her personality bloom.

she did it!

All summer we have debated whether or not we should take her down the slide and this weekend we finally did it. Yes, purely for our enjoyment, but she did great. She didn't even cry. I'm not sure she thought it was nearly as fun as we did, but she did it!
