baby chain

Yesterday we stayed in our pajamas all day. We didn't even fix our hair. We looked gooooood!
About a week ago my babe and I made a baby chain. She had been asking me "does the baby come tomorrow?" so I thought this would be an easy way for us to keep track of how many days until the baby comes. She loves to pull off a link every morning and then count the days left. This morning, there were only 12 links left.

I had a birthday

My Birthday started at 3:00 am. I was just so excited that I couldn't sleep any longer. By 6:00 I was ready to go back to sleep, but before I went to bed I discovered my first birthday wish of the day from my brother-in-law. He said he was at work (CPA) but I know he was just getting home from bar hopping all night.
My hubby woke me up a little later with breakfast in bed. Pancakes, yum, except mine were a gluten free kind we hadn't tried yet. They smelled like manure and tasted even worse. I opted for the real kind of pancakes instead.
Our babe was then off to TT and I was able to lay around until lunch. The Thai food was great, but the group of pregnant ladies I went with were a little obnoxious.
To avoid taking a disastrous nap (I wouldn't sleep again at night), I went shopping with my parents. My dad drove and my mom looked around with me. I was looking for a few specific things for my little girl's room but other than that it was so nice to walk up and down the isles without worrying about anything else.
We got back just in time for a big family pizza dinner and party to celebrate ME! I really enjoy being spoiled!
It was a great day filled with lots of unexpected birthday wishes and a few surprises dropped off at my door.

I know everyone wishes they could look this good in the morning.

We re-lit the candles and blew them out together to appease a 3 year old

Thought for the Day:

Women are Angels.
And when someone breaks our wings....
We simply continue to fly ......... on a broomstick...
We are flexible

Symphony Gala

We went on a date to the Symphony Gala last Saturday. We got to dress up. I think my hubby looked hot. I think I looked...pregnant. There was good food, good music, a few entertaining drunk people, a silent auction, and dancing. We danced. It was great.

2 weeks

Picture taken Sunday February 21
When my hubby took this picture he mentioned "we probably shouldn't take these pictures at the end of the day when you are tired." I tried my hardest to look spry, but looking at the pictures, I'd have to agree.

Only 2 weeks. 14 days. Well, really less that 14 days because we are scheduled for 7:30am.
I'll have to admit that I'm really starting to feel pregnant, really pregnant.
Within the last week...
*I haven't been exercising. I feel pretty accomplished when I take a shower and get dressed.
*The cankles and swollen feet have finally arrived.
*I never get my socks pulled all the way up. Thank heavens for slip on shoes.
*I do still have that inni.
*I am worthless after about 6:00 pm. Well, make that 6:00 am.
*Have I mentioned my sore triceps? For about 2 months now I've been noticing my triceps are super fatigued on some days. I finally realized what it was. It's my nightly workout. When I sleep I lay on my left side for a while and then puuuuuush myself up and switch to the right side. I lay there for a while and then puuuuuush myself up and roll back to my left side. Do this 8 times on each side and you'll be sore too.
*Last night the baby was in full attack mode for several hours. I'm sure it was doing every yoga pose and gymnastics move it could think of. It hurt so bad I thought I might be in labor. Thankfully, I was not.
*Last Thursday it did the same routine, just not as painful. I was complaining of being uncomfortable because the baby was moving so much. My hubby put his hand on my belly to feel. He couldn't believe that the baby could actually distort my stomach like that. I found out yesterday that the baby's head is down. So, that's what it was doing. Little bugger.
*We went to the store and bought one girl's outfit and one boy's outfit. My little girl has been so excited about doing this, but once we got to the store, she was more interested in finding the toys.
*Why doesn't chocolate cake make me feel better?

surprise

I went to the Dr. yesterday. I told him that I was having a major problem with fatigue. They ran a few tests (including going peeps in a cup) and it turns out...I'm pregnant. What? Tomorrow I will be 36 weeks pregnant. Who knew? So that explains the extra weight and the fatigue. Wow, I feel so much better knowing there's a reason.
Our babe's room is almost completely painted. My in-laws came over during lunch and put on one last coat, but there's still a little bit of trim. After her rooms done, we move her bed and stuff into her new PINK room (yes, pink. I let her choose. it's pink, but not that bad, if I were a little girl, I'd want my room to look like this and I don't even like pink.)
Next we move the crib and baby stuff into the baby's room.
Since our new office is finished things have been moving along a lot faster.
With 3 weeks to go, I know there's no way I'm going to finish my list, but I'm getting closer.
I did ask the Dr. if I could bring my pet pot belly pig into the OR. He said no.

happy valentines day

I love Valentines Day, especially now that I have several special Valentines in my life.
Our babe woke up to a Valentine bag full of non-candy goodies, nothing healthy, but at least it wasn't more candy. For primary I made "LOVE" cards. The look on their face when I read the card that said "give everyone in your class a kiss" was priceless. Of course they were very relieved when they saw I had Hershey's Kisses. After church we had a RED dinner at Sweetheart's house. I'm sure only a little food coloring was used.

burn

See that little line by her lip? It's a burn. While she was helping in the kitchen a cookie sheet slid off the trivet and pumped her in the face. When asked how it happened she said "it jumped out at me." We know it must have slipped on accident because if she would have grabbed the pan, like she was told not to, her fingers would be burned This picture was taken Tuesday and it looks really mild here, but the picture is too cute to pass up. Now, Thursday it's pretty scabby and yucky. She's been so good about not picking at it and not complaining about it.

4 weeks

4 weeks, 28 days, oh my.
Lots of things are going on around here.
The old office is getting a slow make-over. It partly primed and most of the furniture is out.
The new office is getting a slow make-over, but the cabinets are almost finished and then we can start moving things in.
The rest of the house is filled with furniture and stuff from both rooms.
All of this going on and I feel like doing...nothing. As of now my nesting urges are on hold, right when there are things to be done.

I exercised today at 2.5 mph, speed demon. I wanted to hang on the rails of the treadmill like I did Monday on the elliptical.
My ankles are barely swelling.
My belly button is still an inni.
I'd like to try on a of pre-pregnancy outfit just for a good laugh.
Can I really handle two kids? It must be doable because people do it all the time. What about when you are feeding the baby and other other kids going potty? What about when your baby is up in the middle of the night and your three year old want to hang out, too?

TT

Oh, what a glorious day for both of us. Today was her first day of TT. She's been asking to go for the last month. I tried to sign her up in January, but it was full. I was kind of glad. I wasn't ready for her to go. This month, I was, or at least I was willing to try. She loves it. One of her favorite friends also goes so I think that makes it easier. I get 2 1/2 hours to do whatever I want and she gets to have a wonderful time with 14 other kids.

5 weeks left

I'm so excited for this.
I'm excited to adore this child as much as I adore my first.
Sometimes I wonder if that's possible, but I'm sure it is. It has to be possible.
I can't wait until they get to meet.
I better not be lying in recovery,
YOU HEAR THAT! NO INTRODUCTIONS UNTIL I'M THERE!
That's got to be one of the worst parts about a C-section. Having a beautiful baby slipped out of your belly. They hold the baby up and then wrap it up where I can't see it. I then get to give it a quick kiss, no holding it, and they whisk it away. I don't get to see it until some of the spinal wears off. Last time I lied and told them it had worn off more than it really had. I was sick of lying in a room with a bunch of other surgery patients. At least her dad got to be with her and cuddle with her. There's a video somewhere of the first time I got to hold her. It's priceless to me and I don't even know where it is. Brilliant.
More about me.
No cankles (swollen ankles)
No outtie belly button
No varicose veins
Some stretch marks
Sleeping on my side is soooooooooooo fun
My eating habits stink
I've gained less weight with this baby than with my last, but I still have 5 weeks to gain 12 lbs.
I feel pretty blessed. I'm pregnant. I'm not horribly uncomfortable.
My pants are still falling off, I need to get some suspenders or something.
Maybe another day I will post some of our name choices.
Right now I am really hoping for a boy, no a girl, no a boy, no a girl, no a....baby, a human baby

practice

My wonderful friend had this adorable little girl 4 weeks ago and I wanted to practice on her. Since I enjoy photography and using photoshop I thought I might as well take an opportunity to practice on a little one before I have my own. I'm sure my new babe is going to learn to LOVE the camera as much as my 3 year old, at least bribing still works. My many night of little sleep have been spent playing with the photographs. It's fun, I love it, it's hard work, I'd like to get better, I don't want to do this as a business, I'll leave that to the people who know what they are really doing.
