yellow snow

just an example of the kind of smiles I get!

We went to the cabin for a long weekend while they boys went on their annual snowmobile trip. We went shopping, looked at trains, went on long walks, had a slumber party in the king bed and ate yellow snow. Yum! Crystal Light is the best! While waiting up late for the boys to come home we decided to kill some time by making brownies. How lucky can this 2 year old be? Staying up until 11:00 making brownies!

she said...

She does smile, just not for pictures

Granddad said while driving, "I was only driving 54-55 mph."
Her, in the backseat responds, "56, 57, 58, 59."

I said, "Mom, will you grab the r e d s h o e s"
(I was spelling it so our shoe fetish girl wouldn't know what I was asking)
After Sweetheart (my mom) grabbed the shoes she brought them out to surprise our girl and said "do you know what these are?"
she said, "Yep, D K G"

Almost everyday she tells me she's going shopping or to the movies with Summer and Josh.

While we were playing on the playground she told me, "you can have a turn in two weeks."

"you come home at two forty o'clock"

Ski Bunny

For the weekend of my birthday we decided to go spend it at the cabin and go skiing. Our babe was dissapointed she wasn't going to go skiing with us. But, we told her when she was three we would take her skiing. Right before we were leaving for the cabin, my husband came home with a surprise. Skis for her! One of his office girls was selling her kid's skis and said we could have them. What a deal! We didn't end up going skiing (because we picked the busiest weekend of the season) but she went skiing. Down the street! Next year we're taking her to the slopes. She loved it and was such a good sport.
The video is only 7 seconds and worth watching with the sound on!

hair

Since she has discovered how lovely she can be with things in her hair, we get to do it daily. I loved the pleased look she gets when she looks in the mirror after I put in a clip or pony tail. She is a GIRL! Lately, I've been at a loss with what to do with her...stringy mop. In the past she's looked like Peter Boyle, had a mud flap, and unruly hair. Now that she lets me put things in it, it's sooooo much better. I'm not ever tempted to cut it anymore. Last week she found a pretty clip bow in her drawer. My friend sent me a pair of clip bows as a surprise a l o n g time ago and I've been waiting for the day when I could put them in her hair and she'd actually keep them there. After I put one in her hair she informed me that she needed to change her shirt so it matched the bow. Now everyday we put in a cute little clip that matches her outfit. Since she has so little hair and it's very thin, we are limited, but it's still so much fun!

Valentines Day

I love Valentines day! We spent the week celebrating. She wasn't nearly as excited as I was about making Valentines (probably because she was sick) so it took us two days to get Valentines made. The Wednesday night before we went to Olive Garden for our family date. We decided to go there because we had a gift card. After we ordered we found out we had a whopping $4.74 on the card. Thanks to whoever gave us that card! My husband took our babe shopping Thursday and they got me a plant, she picked out a candy car, and a card. Thursday night I got roses from my handsome husband! Saturday morning we had a fancy German Pancake breakfast (yum, made with rice flour, it worked!). Then we did hair. It was the one of the first times she let me put pony tales in her hair and kept them there! Next was her dad's turn. I personally can't decide who looks better. In the afternoon we took another drive up to the snow (just so my husband could drive in it). We were AMAZED at how much snow there was just 20 minutes away. Several feet. That night my parents watched the grand kids and my hubby and I enjoyed a nice quiet dinner with no girly sitting on our lap. It was bliss!
