Sunday

We had a very exciting day today!
*First, she got to wear her favorite dress to church. She asks to wear this dress every single day (even to gymnastics) and asks to wear it to church every week. I set it out last night and when she saw it, her eyes lit up. I knew getting her dressed this morning would be a breeze.

*Second, she got cookies after church today! Last week her dad heard that the primary kids get cookies if they memorize the First Presidency and the Quorum of the 12 Apostles and he decided that she needed cookies too (so he could eat them). There are15 men in all, but she only had to memorize 3 to get the reward. We worked on them at breakfast and before bed this week and the teachers were amazed when she got all 15 right. She was extra thrilled when she got to take home the cookies today instead of having to wait until next week like usual (one of the kids who did it last week wasn't at church today so she got his.)

guess who's awake

Me! Yipee! Some extra time to play on the computer. I've considered vacuuming the entire house, but I'm too lazy.
So, yesterday in at the fabric store, I waited at the cut counter for 45 minutes. Yes 45 minutes, along with a fit throwing 2 year old, her flabbergasted grandma, and 10 other costumers.
My babe was pretty concerned about the little girl and wondered why she was throwing a fit. I explained that the little girl wanted to run around the store, instead of stand by her grandma and that some kids weren't quite as good as exploring and staying near their moms. My babe then had a great idea "I'll take her exploring around the store." Wow, how come my three year old is more charitable than I am? I had already decided that the little girl didn't deserve to do something fun. Looking back I should have helped the poor grandma and just taken the little girl with us and had some fun.

mug shot

I can't tell if this looks cute or a little too much like a mug shot.
I've been doing lots of playing on the computer lately. Since I've been getting up from
3:00-6:30 am the past two mornings, I've had lots of time to waste. I can't tell if this is some freakish nesting thing or what. Thankfully, I haven't been too tired. Usually if I get too little sleep I turn into a monster. Literally. Maybe my body is just getting me ready for those fun night time feeding.

Since I've more hours in my day....does anyone make those adorable beanie hats for infants? I've been looking online at buying one and I can't seem to bring myself to do it. Especially because I've heard little girls are making them for Activity Days. If they can make one, I can make one.

6 weeks

Can time really be going this fast?
In some ways I'm not sure my belly can handle getting 6 weeks bigger.
It's really not that big, but I have visions of those mothers who've carried sextuplets.
Things really are pretty typical...
I sleep pretty well at nights (well, besides tonight)
I've got to stop lifting my 3 year old in strange ways
My shirts are getting too short
My pants are still falling off
The little alien loves, loves, loves to dance around or just kick one spot continuously
I've had very little back discomfort (hallelujah!)
I can still exercises, but it's a little painful when the baby kicks right at the bladder.
I get super light headed and icky around 5:30 almost every evening

One thing I can't seem to get a handle on is eating.
I can eat just as much at one sitting as I did before. Where is all that food going? I know I don't have much room. I think it must be settling right on my rear. That's why I don't get acid reflux as bad as I did 2 months ago (also, I'm not eating nearly as much crap)

Our house is still nowhere close to being rearranged. I think that bothers me too much.

I need to get some pictures of my belly and my little girl. I love it when she talked to the belly and asks where It's head is so she can give it kisses.

As of now the names are...
Boy Chuck-e-Cheese
Girl Gumdrop
We are trying to think of family names for the middle name, but nothing sounds that great with either first name.

just because

Poor child. This morning she woke up, sat up in bed, made a few noises and I went in to get her. I couldn't get her though, I was laughing too hard at the Pippy Longstocking hair. Of course the poor, barely awake, child had to sit there while I went to get my camera and then took a flash picture. She really didn't seem to care and I got to have this wonderful little picture of my favorite girl.

favorite things part III

Shoes
Oh, how she loves shoes. Rarely are they the shoes I want to her love (like the cute pair of Ugg boots I could never get her to wear so I returned them to Kmart) but she sure loves those flip flops. Thankfully we told her long ago flip flops were not appropriate for church, so we never have that struggle, but I guess they are appropriate for wet rainy days.

Mouthwash
She does a better job with mouthwash than most adults. It's even the hot stuff. We have cut back on the times she gets to do it. Now it's once a week on Sundays. Before she was doing it twice a day, too much! Especially because of the alcohol content, oops. Our little wino.

Praying
She does %90 of the praying around here. Family prayer, mealtime prayer, opening prayers, closing prayers, she loves to pray. Sometimes they are well thought out prayers and sometimes they aren't, but at least she loves it.

7 weeks to go

Each day it seems that my belly gets bigger.
When I sit down I can feel my belly resting on my thighs. Ewe!
At my check-up yesterday I had only gained 1 pound in two weeks.
Much better than the 6 pounds I gained in 4 weeks.
My belly button is still an ini, but not for long.
I have a tiny cold.

favorite things part II

The Phone
She knows and can dial Sweethearts and her Dad's telephone numbers. She loves to dial them and just talk on the phone. She also loves to answer the phone. We have been working on a few other phone numbers and she almost has them down. Soon she will have more people to call on a whim.

Kathy's
She loves to go to Kathy's and get her nails painted when my mom goes. Lucky for her, my OBGYN appointments have been on the same mornings my mom goes to Kathy's. Our babe is more than willing to sing a song as a trade for getting her nails done. Today they are painted blue.

Go Fish!
Oh Go Fish! I have no idea how many times we have played Go Fish in the last 5 months. We used to play only at Grandma's house, but recently Sweetheart found her deck of cards too. Now we play at both houses. Ahhhhhh! Go Fish, Go Fish, Go Fish.
Racing to Get Shoes On...
or any type of racing. We race to the bed, we race to the door, we race to get our shoes on. We race.
Taking a Shower
This past July she learned from her four year old friend, Bella, how to take a shower by herself. That includes washing the hair and body by herself. For a long time she was only interested in showering, now she switches back and forth. Depends on the day.
Her Blanket
Surprise! Oh how she loves those yarn blankets. She doesn't get to take them "out" with her, like to church or the store, but lots of times they do get to ride in the car and she gives the blanket a kiss before she gets out of the car. I'm just thrilled she doesn't cry when they're being washed or dried.

favorite things

Some of her favorite things...
Playing dress-up
Anything can be used to make a dress, the other day it was a see-through plastic bag.
L* kept saying "I don't like her dress."
Playing pretend
"let's pretend that I'm the mom and you are the baby...."
(I can only handle that game for a few minutes)
Today she told me she was playing "fake believe"
Playing monsters
"I made a gate, get in here quick before the monsters get us"
Playing Musicals
She will sing everything she does
"I'm going downstairs"
Listening to Mom and Dad's bedtime stories
She likes them better when they are made up, not read from a book.
(I bribed her with 5 chocolate chips to take "a nice picture")
After the 5 seconds of the piano solo at church my babe looked at me with an expression that said "I know this song, what song is this?" I started quietly singing along "consider all the world's thy hands have made." She then said "I know this song. Sweetheart sang it at K* great-grandma's funeral." (that was early September)

Instead of eating lunch she decided to go play. When she finally came upstairs and saw her plate was gone she asked if she could have her lunch now. Since playing and not eating happens too much, her dad told her "You chose to play instead of eat, lunch is over, but you can have dinner when it's dinner time." She threw a fit. She was so mad and used all the excuses, but the best is when she told us "You didn't make me eat." Oh dear, how did she learn that reasoning so young?

8 weeks

What? Only eight weeks left. I find it hard to believe. Someone asked if I'm ready to just have the baby right now. No way! It's safe and warm. I don't have to feed it, change it's diaper, or get up with it in the middle of the night. (Don't you love how I call my baby, it) But I am super excited to hold it, love it, kiss it and watch it's big sister do the same.

Right now I have a BAD case of nesting. My to-do list is at least 2 pages long and things are being added everyday. How am I ever going to get everything done? Do two years worth of continuing education for personal training. Clean the our cold storage room, move the office to the cold storage room, paint the old office, move our babe into the old office, bring up the crib and set up the baby's room, clean every drawer in the house, finish two years of scrapbooks, start and finish her baby book (BTW I was devastated a few months ago when I realized I had lost her baby book. We found it last week cleaning out a box, yippee) sell a bunch of stuff on craigs list, organize and get rid of the scrubs, organize music, convert VHS tapes to DVD, scan old pictures, and the list goes on and on. Why do I feel like I have to so ALL this done before the baby comes?
As for how I feel...for being in the 3rd trimester, I feel pretty good. I'm actually getting more sleep than I was 2 months ago. My belly's not too big. Sometimes I have a hard time breathing and it makes me light headed. My pants are still always falling off. The baby loves to move right when I am laying down for bed. I am an emotional wreck, but pretend that I'm not. Thankfully, I don't have any of the BIG pregnant problems. I'm just....pregnant.

basketball babe

I was thrilled when my hubby decided to go play church ball. He loves to play, but doesn't go very often. He got ready for his basketball game and of course she wanted to wear her basketball clothes, too. When we got there he was the ONLY one from his team there. Thankfully there was some bored kids there who were willing to make a team. Our babe had a great time cheering for her dad and then playing with the ball whenever she got the chance. Lucky girl can already dunk the ball too. She'll make one heck of a basketball player if she gets her dad's posting skills, his hops (white men can jump), his blocking and rebounding, and my aggressive defence, passing, and outside shooting. Oh, and his height.

Saturday

We had a very monumental Saturday.
Our babe has been practicing "step hop, step hop" (skipping) for months and finally on Saturday, when we were running errands, it clicked. She's skipping. While skipping she has also taken some fantastic face plants, one while skipping down a steep hill.
Another momentous moment was Saturday afternoon when she discovered and then announced she could turn on and off the light switch in her room. Yipee. I think I was almost as excited as she was. No more calling for me when she needs a light turned on.

bird feeding

We finally put up the bird feeder she got from Grandma and Grandpa for Christmas. If only the birds would come and eat now.

facepaint

While I went shopping with the girls (New Year's Day is a fantastic day to shop, especially in the morning) and her dad went to the movies, she played with her cousins. When we took off her shirt later that night we also found designs on her back. What a fun way to spend the day! I didn't get to see the full effect, so hopefully my mom took some great pictures.

sunbeam

My sweetie is a SUNBEAM! She's been super excited for several weeks. Last night she asked me if she gets to sit in the chairs now.
