St Paddy's Day

Our St. Paddy's Day was filled with Green and Red.

In the morning Sweetpea had her first ever bloody nose. It was a big bloody mess and scared her. We tried to keep her from crying too much because that just makes it worse. After a while of trying to be brave she started to cry again and sobbed "I don't want to die." Broke my heart. She had at least 6 more bloody noses during the rest of the week.

My hubby was sick. He didn't even have to dress up for St. Paddy's day. He was green.

and Gumdrop. She had a pretty good day in her little outfit and boogery nose. She was thrilled to get outside for the picture and then threw a fit when I took her back inside. She just loves to eat dirt.

sick family

March hasn't been the healthiest month for our family, just check out the eyes. First Gumdrop got sick, then Sweetpea and Dad followed. This wasn't just a little cold either...this was SICK...sinus, runny nose, sore throat, headache, sick to their stomach....misery. I am so thankful that I only got a little sick. We have gone through at least box of kleenex everyday and have wiped so many boggers. Everyone is almost back to %100, almost!

birthday

After Sweetpea's 1st Birthday cake puking adventure, I decided my other babies could have real birthday cakes. Gumdrop wasn't at all interested in the cake, she just wanted the blueberries and strawberries on top of it.

Oh how this child can eat and eat and eat.

the white dress obsession

These pictures were each taken on a different day this week.
This slip is sort of like the perfect little black dress. It so multi-functional. It can be dressed up, worn over clothes, under clothes, slept in, a play dress, a fancy dress....so many options (except going out of the house with only the slip on, that's not an option.)

dumpster diving

This child loves to go through the trash in the office...she's discovered all sorts of wonderful things in there.

peter boyle

Have you ever seen anything more adorable?
I was positive there was NO WAY she was going to let me put her hair in a rubber band, but she did...and she didn't even pull it out. I guess I'm a little paraniod of my child looking like the father on Everybody Loves Raymond, so this little pony tail is getting cut off sometime in the next few days. What this child really needs is a Flowbee hair cut, but I think that would freak her out. Maybe I'll try it anyway. She's got random long hairs all over her head mixed in with short hair.

an apple a day

Here she is chowing down on a big huge apple. She was so intent on this apple that she even worked on her balancing and walking skills without realizing it. While she was standing she would drop the apple then bend down and pick it back up. Then she would take one step, laugh, continue standing, and take another bite of her apple. She LOVED this apple and even shared a few bites with me.

happy, happy birthday baby

* 365 days old.
*She smiles so easily and her giggle is so contagious.
*She thinks walking is so novel, but not novel enough to do it on her own.
*She loves to share her food.
*She loves to be held.
*I love to kiss her to make up for lost time. Did I ever mention that I didn't get to kiss her for 6 months? Not on the lips, nor any where else, cheeks, head, arms, feet. BUT, what we thought was herpes/cold sores is really an allergic reaction to.....cobolt....whatever that is. Not being able to give anyone kisses is so.....sad, especially your baby (and your husband)
*She screamed before they even got her out of the womb.
*Once the Dr. had Gumdrop in his arms, she kicked and wiggled so hard he could barely hold onto her.
*Dad got to warm up Sweetpea on his chest when she was a newborn. This time I got to hold Gumdrop on my chest to warm her up. I wonder if that's why the girls are so particular, Sweetpea to Dad, Gumdrop to Mom.
*I adore this little thing

learning to whistle

These are the best kind of moments. This is why I leave my camera out on the counter.

champion eater

This little girl can EAT! and EAT! and EAT! At buffets she will eat heaping plate fulls of food (no joke). I have no idea where she puts it all because there is no way her little body can hold that much food at one sitting, yet it does. She grabs food in each hand and shoves it in. When all her food is gone, she yells for more. She loves salty things...green olives, tomato soup, rice and bean...but she also loves any kind of fruit. She can spot a banana from miles away!

playing the piano

I am so glad we have this little keyboard in our house. It is played daily. Sweetpea loves to make up songs and figure out how to play songs she knows how to sing. I think she might have her dad's ear for music. That would be great!

walking?

Just this past week has Gumdrop showed some interest in walking. She thinks it's hilarious to cruise around the house holding our hands, sometimes.

dress for success

Check out the outfit she chose for Tiny Tots. She was very specific about certain elements of the outfit. At first she wanted the ribbons and flower in her hair, but I explained that they would be better on the hat.

Blueberries

The blueberries were part of a game Sweetpea and Sweetheart were playing. While the game was on "pause" Gumdrop found them and started shoving them in her mouth as fast as she could. Lucky little girl. YUM!

She has figured out how to climb up the cushions of the couch and this is now one of her favorite spots. I am so glad she hasn't figured out how to climb on the couch yet, then I would be scared. Now I at least know when she is doing it.
