dollhouse

A couple of weeks ago our babe went to play with her cousin. They had a wonderful time playing with K*'s dollhouse. When I arrived to pick her up, her cousin was in bed and my babe was still having a great time entertaining herself. When it was time to clean up and go she was super disappointed. Her uncle suggested she could take it home for a week. After getting permission from the owner, K*, we happily packed it up and took it home. I have NEVER seen my little girl so enthralled with ANYTHING. She spent hours and hours playing with the dollhouse. The first day we had it, she played with it at least 6 hours. The next day she played almost that much. She even snuck inside while we were working outside so she could play with it. What a fantastic toy! Thursday, October 22, 2009
getting ready for halloween

Too lazy to change her, she went to Sweethearts in her pajamas. When she got there her cousin was wearing a glow-in-the-dark skeleton shirt, too (this was over two weeks ago). I guess great minds think alike. Now for the dilemma. What is she going to be for Halloween? Every time I've asked her I've gotten a different answer; bunny, angel, Princess Leia (what?), but today she told me she wanted to be a princess. Hum. I'm going to see if I can brain wash her into something else. Isn't that what mom's are supposed to do?Wednesday, October 21, 2009
park and things
Went to the park last week with our friends. She did a tricky little move off the swing (because she was holding on with one hand) and face planted. She got a bloody lip, a really dirty face, a dirty sweatshirt. I don't think she'll try the one handed trick for a long time.Things I hear almost daily....
Wow, did you get that for me? Thank you so much.
Can I wear a dancing dress?
Will you read me a book?
Ok, I have a deal for you.....
Can I look at pictures/videos of me on the computer?
Will you play with me?
Just a couple of days ago she has started saying...
you are so mean (when she doesn't get what she wants or gets into trouble
(where did she learn that?))
She loves to....
*rhyme
While helping her in the bathroom my mom told her "Good Job Missy."
Babe thought for a second and said "Missy Pissy, that rhymes" Why yes it does!
She actually does a great job rhyming. She'll do 5 or 6 rhyming words and then rhyme something like cat with salsa
*sound out words
hard to explain, but she's pretending to read
*go over to her great aunt's house for gummy worms
*eat broccoli especially broccoli families
*eat cheesy tomato soup it's really potato
*play with her cousins
*bring treat to nursery she still asks is she can bring hangaburgers

kissing
When I was pregnant with our babe (2006) I had my first experience with cold sores. On the first day of my family reunion I spent too much time out in the sun. The next morning I had a few blisters and in another two days, I looked like this. Then it got a little worse. I couldn't open my mouth to eat, smiling was out of the question, I had flew like symptoms, I couldn't sleep, and I was in pain. Eventually it scabbed up and I looked like the Phantom of the Opera without his mask on. It took me weeks to go out into public and when I finally did, I tried to keep my hand over my mouth, especially when I was eating. I'd have to carefully maneuver the small bites of food in so I didn't rip open my scabs. It took months for my lips to look normal again, but I'm glad they did. After my babe was born I got it two more times. I couldn't kiss my new baby! Anywhere!
This past May we went to the fair. I thought my cute little hat was enough coverage. I thought wrong. You can imagine my dissapointment when I blistered again. Thankfully not as bad, but still enough to keep me from smiling normal. Sadly, those little blisters REFUSED to go away and stay away. I had reoccuring blisters all summer; from the end of May until the the middle of September. I did everything I could to get rid of them, including walking around with an umbrella and never having my face in the sun. I light cured them, lazered them, put every kind of topical on, and took lysine pills. Sharing food, drinks, chap stick and kissing my loves was out of the question.
Finally, I have been blister free for almost three weeks. Last Friday I gave my little girl a KISS. She was so thrilled that she grabbed my face for another kiss. I have been attacked a couple of times by this little cutie since then, once, while we were taking family pictures. Although it's hard, I still try not to kiss her on the lips. What mother wants to pass on nightmare lips? But, sometimes it's just too hard to resist. She's pretty excited about the kisses, but she's much more excited that we can share Chex again.

listening to conference

What a wonderful weekend! I even got to listen and pay attention to most of the sessions. On Sunday we set out a little table, stickers and a photo copied a page of the Prophet and Apostles. She then occupied herself by putting stickers on the faces of those speaking. The activity didn't last the full two hours, but it did keep her entertained for a while. Tuesday, October 6, 2009
quiet time
Last week she wasn't interested in taking a nap (I did and she played). Not willing to give up my precious time alone, my mom suggested we try quiet time. My babe was told since she wasn't going to take a nap she needed to spend one hour in her room quietly reading books by herself or quietly playing. We did it twice last week, both times she ended up like this after 10 minutes.Monday, October 5, 2009
