what I feed your kids when they play at my house

GREEN EGGS

The boys came over to play after gymnastics last Thursday. I have no idea how blue eggs came up, maybe I said it to be funny, but they went crazy over the idea. After a few drops of blue food coloring I realized I'd have to empty the bottle to get the eggs blue, but they were just as excited about green. When the eggs were finally served, there was some hesitation, but after a quick brave taste, they deemed them perfect. After the green eggs were devoured they decided on pink eggs.

dressing for dinner

Look at that beautiful smile! My favorite.
Her love of the gymnastics bodysuit lasted two days and then she found this outfit in a pile of hand-me-downs! She wanted to wear it to gymnastics so bad. We finally made a deal, she could wear it until her aunt picked her up, run outside show off the outfit, change (on the front porch) and then put back on the pink outfit as soon as she got home. By the time her dad came home from work there was little hope of getting her out of the lpink eotard, so we dressed it up and let her go out to Grandpa's birthday dinner.

gymnastics outfit

Since she spent most of her first gymnastics class trying to keep her leotard from being eaten by her bottom, we decided we should try and find a body suit to fit her tiny little body. Thankfully, we found one the first place we looked. She was so thrilled when she tried it on that she wore it out of the store and the rest of the day.

Someone mentioned I should try a 50mm lens. My uncle happened to have one and let me borrow it. I'm hoping he forgets I have it.

gymnastics

These three started gymnastics last week. We started off going two days a week and decided one day would be plenty for our budding gymnasts. I usually don't post 4 similar pictures, but these were too funny not to post. Every mom loves an adorable picture of her kids. Out of 4 pictures, I think each kid had only one adorable face, the rest were....well click on the picture and take a better look. Maybe these are only faces moms, aunts, and Sweethearts could love. Taking a good group picture of these three is almost impossible.

self indulgent interview with myself

Was your last post really a pregnancy announcement?
Yep, it was.

Wow, that's exciting when are you due?
March 18th, a spring baby!

So you are....
14 weeks

Are you going to find out the sex of the baby?
Yep, when it's born

Really? Isn't not knowing going to drive you crazy?
No, we love it. Nine months of waiting makes a very fun surprise. Just wait, you'll see when that post finally comes in March.
We would really love to have another girl, but we'd also love to have a boy.
Just a human baby would be great!

So, how do you feel?
Pregnant
I'm sicker than some woman, not as sick as others.

You've been puking?
Nope, just a lot of nausea, dry heaving, fatigue and GAS.

Ewe, gas.
No not just gas, but GAS. The kind that rumbles around making you feel as if your baby is kicking and doing somersaults, but there's no way because the baby isn't that big yet.

Isn't that kind of embarrassing? you know...
oh dear if it came out I would consider that a miracle. Breaking wind would be a blessing!

Are you craving anything?
No, not in particular. I've just eaten a lot of Rice Chex and very few vegetables.
Sadly, this summer we grew a fantastic little garden and even the sight of it would make me dry heave. Even thinking about a vegetable would make me sick, so having the fresh picked produce sitting on my counter was torture. I have eaten lots of fruit (wait, maybe that's one of my problems)

What does your little girl think?
She is super excited. This is perfect timing for all of us.

Some show sooner with their second baby, are you showing?
Well, when I have a belly full of gas I look 7 months pregnant, (really, maybe I'll post a picture sometime). When I have been blessed with relief I have a pooch, but it has nothing to do with the size of the baby, it's from all the crap I've been eating trying to self-soothe myself with food. It never works, you just gain weight.

Anything you'd like to add?
Thanks for the comments. I love them. Someday, I will catch up with all our fun summer activities and leave comments on your posts. But, for now, sadly, I don't feel like it. I feel like sleeping....a lot.

my latest adventure

Saturday, September 12, 2009

We've had a busy summer, so many things to blog about, but I obviously haven't been doing a very good job of that since the middle of July. Here's the reason.... I've been busy. I'm doing a play! We spent the month of August in rehearsals and the performances started in September. The show runs until the end of September. I haven't performed since we got married 8 years ago and it's the first time I've ever done a straight play (not a musical). I'm always so nervous to tell people about things like this, but now that we are in our second week of performances, I'm a little more confidant.

It's called "The Trip to Bountiful." It's long, it's slow, and it's very good, maybe even excellent. The main actress is phenomenal (not me). It's worth going just to see her. In the meantime, you will get to see me dressed in yellow, something that doesn't happen very often, wait, only when I perform.

My hubby brought my daughter to one of the dress rehearsals. She sat through only my scenes, but she loved it. In my second scene, I cry (very fake, in my opinion). I guess it was more believable than I thought because my babe got upset, but held it together. When I finally left the stage in my third scene, she bawled. She was so upset that I was crying.

It's been such a great adventure and I'm so thankful my hubby was willing and happy to have me performing again. I think he's just glad I'm not kissing anyone. On opening night he couldn't come because we didn't have a baby-sitter. I was thrilled when I walked out after the play was over to see my hubby and my baby waiting there with flowers. They got dressed up and came for the opening night party! The show was a hit, but the mingling crowd was way more interested in our little girl than any of the performers.

home, finally

Tuesday, September 8, 2009 Grandma and Grandpa are finally home from their mission! We've missed them! They pulled in at 8:0o Tuesday night and were welcomed by 2 very excited little girls, our babe and her 8 year old cousin. I wasn't sure our babe was ever going to calm down enough to fall asleep that night. She was elated! Too bad the whole family doesn't live here so we could all enjoy Grandma and Grandpa at the same time!

halloween tree

Monday Sep 7, 2009 We call this our Halloween tree. It's a black oak. I'm some-what of a tree hugger, but this tree HAD TO GO. It looks just like it's name implies. A dead, nasty Halloween tree. Perfect for only one day of the year. Back in June we called the tree killer to have it taken down. When he climbed up to start chopping, he found a squirrels nest with 2 babies who didn't even have their eyes open. He gave me the options: cut it down and raise the squirrels or wait until the squirrels were grown and then have it cut down. We waited, and waited and waited. Finally, Monday he chopped the tree down. What a blessed event! We had a party!

once a year

About once a year, or less, I get a good picture of just me and my babe. She has tons with her dad, but very few with me. It's kind of nice. I should do it more often.

Recently, she's developed the bad habit of saying "STOP." Since I don't like it, last night I told her she needs to say "stop, hammer time" instead. She liked that idea, but instead said "stop, hangabur (hamburger) time."

Close.

She says the best prayers, really. A couple of days ago as she was praying she said "please help us go to Heavenly Father and die." Hummmmm?
